Day 2: Trekking with a Local Guide

If you wish you can also take a local guide along with you on your journey who will guide you along your trekking journey. If you are a beginner or are on the journey with your family then having an experienced guide along is always better.

The Kareri lake trek begins from the Nolli (Nohali) bridge. This is a 3km drive from Kareri Khas village. The beautiful Nyund river accompanies you along your trek.

The trekking route is splendid and mesmerizing, filled with plenty of beautiful views and exciting terrains. The path leads you through a jungle trail, streams, steep upward hikes, green valleys, majestic mountains, and vast rocky stretches. The complete trekking journey is very scenic and the pleasant music of the Nyund river keeps the atmosphere subtle and calm.

The beautiful jungle trail is about 4km long then next comes the green valleys waiting for you with their beautiful and mesmerizing views. Along the way, you need to cross a number of rivulets. After crossing the 2nd rivulet a straight stretch waits for you. Then comes a 3rd rivulet which has an iron bridge.

After crossing these three rivulets take a break alongside a rivulet where there is a small temple of lord Shiva. After your short break, you start hiking upward. Then comes rocky terrain that you need to cross. Camping is not allowed at the lake so you need to set up your tent a few meters away downside of the lake. To reach Kareri lake you need to cross the 4th rivulet and cover a  small upward stretch. Kareri lake is surrounded by the beauty of mountains and valleys. The huge glaciers are the source of water in Kareri lake and all the rivulets that you come across along the trekking journey are initiated from Kareri lake. There is a beautiful temple of lord Shiva near Kareri lake. The temple and the beautiful nature give out positive vibes in the atmosphere.

After completing the trekking journey, take a rest in the camp. So, enjoy the starry night sky and relax in the cool and calm atmosphere.

Day 3: Kareri Lake in the Morning

On the third day, you get up early and climb the hill once again to take a glimpse of Kareri lake in the morning. The morning view of Kareri lake is mesmerizing and makes your trekking journey worthwhile.

Day 4: Back to Hometown

On the 4th day, you finally set back towards your way back home after holidays. Kareri lake trek is a mesmerizing trekking journey and it amuses everyone with its natural beauty. This beautiful trekking journey fills your mind, body, and soul with positive energy and you take back plenty of happy memories that will last a lifetime.

Things you need to carry on your trekking journey

As the trekking trail can be challenging in some places you must carry good and comfortable shoes with you.

Being at a higher altitude, the nights are quite cold and even colder in June. So you must carry warm clothes along.

Make sure you carry only the necessary thing and not the unnecessary stuff. Because the more light your backpack is the easier will be your trekking journey.

If you are going to trek without a guide make sure you carry your tent and sleeping bag.

Moreover, keep some ready-to-eat snacks and energy drinks with you.

Also, keep a raincoat with you as the weather in the mountains can change at any time.

Water is very essential and hence you must carry your water bottle along with you. So, you may not be able to get drinkable water along your way.

Also, keep first aid and some necessary medicines with you. Just in case you face any minor injury, it can come in handy.

Conclusion

Kareri lake trek is a mesmerizing trekking journey filled with natural beauty and exciting adventures. You are surely going to enjoy this journey and take lots of memories that will last you a lifetime.
